The Bobby Basics If you find yourself going through a package of bobby pins on a single style, you’re probably using them incorrectly. Yup, there is in fact a right and wrong way to use these seemingly simple pins. I’ll let you in on this little known secret; the wavy side goes down, leaving the straight side exposed. You also don’t need to capture every last strand of hair in your bobby pin to make your style stay. In fact, this is usually the reason your bobby pins end up everywhere but your hair. Instead, slide your pin through only a section of the hair you want to hold and voila…it’s like magic! If your bobby pins no longer have those little plastic tips, it’s time to buy a new pack.
