2017 Hair Trend Predictions

Bonjour Dah-lings! 2016 was the year of braids, balayage, and hair accessories – oh so many hair accessories. And while we’re not quite ready to wave goodbye to these trends, the New Year has officially arrived and with it will come all sorts of new and exciting color, cuts, and styles just waiting to take over. We’re calling it now; these four looks will reign supreme in 2017. You might just want to start booking your hair appointments now…

Super Straight Plug in your flat irons, dahlings; pin-straight, shiny, and center-parted hair will be taking center stage this year. From the runway to the red carpet, we’re seeing poker straight strands more and more – and this trend is only just getting started! To achieve this look, coat damp hair in a frizz-fighting, heat-protecting serum (we recommend Smoothing Balm) and blow-dry with a flat brush. Once hair is dry, flat iron hair section by section and finish with Fluoro5 Elixer Restore & Repair Oil to eliminate flyways.

Fringe Bangs Bangs are back, baby! These eye-grazing bangs work with nearly every hair length and face shape, not to mention it’s an instant style statement. Bangs are a great way to change up your look when you’re not yet willing to commit to a drastic chop. But whatever you do – don’t try this at home! Ask your stylist to let the sides gradually taper in, rather than a blunt, straight across cut to keep the look soft and feminine.

Extra Long Locks Whether pulled up high, braided back, or worn down freely, the motto of 2017 is sure to be “Long hair, don’t care!” And we’re talking serious length – the kind that would make even Rapunzel proud. The style is both dramatic and iconic, reminiscent of Cher’s 70s’ lengthy locks. We’ve already seen these hip grazing extensions on Selena, Rihanna, and nearly every Kardashian-Jenner, so it’s only a matter of time before this trend takes the hair world by storm. The key to rocking this look is shine - the last thing you want is long hair that looks dull and drab. A few drops of Fluoro5 and you’ll be good to go!

The Cool Girl Shag This look takes the classic shag of the 70’s and adds modern twist. The result? A chic and edgy cut with just the right hint of rock and roll.
