Emmy Awards 2017: Hair Edition

Bonjour Dah-ling! If there was one trend that dominated the Emmy red carpet this year it was the wet-hair look. And it should come as no surprise, as this not-yet-fully-dry style has become a staple among It girls this season. From slicked-back chignons to glossy waves, the ladies of television made known this trend is here to stay…and we’re more than okay with that!

Gabrielle Union

Miss Union may have kept her roots looking sleek from the front, but she was rocking serious volume from behind! Ingeniously dubbed the “power pony” by the actress herself, the style combined slick-backed roots pulled tight into a pony at the nape of the neck. But rather than stick with the sleek motif, she let her ponytail do the talking with voluptuous curls, teased to perfection.

Anna Chlumsky

Veep star Anna Chlumsky went the old Hollywood glamour route, but added a modern twist with serious shine. The 1920’s waves had us reminiscing of Veronica Lake – if Veronica Lake had edged up her look with just the right amount of hair gel.

Julianne Hough

Julianne Hough went for a more subtle, if unconventional approach. Her product of choice? Baby oil – which the actress accidentally doused her hair in while on a slip and slide the day before the big event. But we have to admit, it ended up working in her favor!

Madeline Brewer

The Handmaid’s Tale wasn’t the only award winner of the night…its star Madeline Brewer also gets our award for one of the night’s best beauty looks. The actress wore her sleek strands parted down the middle and pulled back into a low bun that truly dazzled.
